It’s no secret to Abilenians that Abilene is a great place to live, and now it’s being noticed on a national scale.
The Abilene Regional Growth Alliance, a division of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce that Abilene has been named one of the best cities to live in Texas by livability.com.
“Abilene is proud to be recognized as a top place to live in Texas, and to substantiate what we as Abilenians already know – that targeted investment, both public and private, when combined with a pro-business environment and a can-do attitude by our residents, continually improves the product we call home, and is paramount to helping to improve our community’s long-term economic viability,” said Doug Peters, President & CEO of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. “I’ve said for years now that ‘if you’re lucky enough to live in Abilene, Texas – you’re lucky enough. I heard just last week that ‘it feels like we’re living in Abilene’s Golden Age.’ That statement could not ring truer.”
Livability combines their love of places with data to create their lists taking into account measures of a city’s economy, housing and cost of living, amenities, transportation, environment, safety, education and health.
